This thread is for anyone having trouble logging into a Facebook Connected Hipstaccount and/or establishing the connection to FB for the purpose of sharing images.
These connections sometimes produce a com.facebook.sdk error.
This is something we're aware of. It appears to be a hit-and-miss issue in the connection between Hipstamatic and Facebook. It's not a bug, as such, with Hipstamatic itself. We did make some updates to Hipstamatic earlier in 2013 and those have seemed to help resolve this issue for most people. But some people are still seeing this message from time to time.
There are a couple of do-no-harm workarounds that seem to help those who are still getting that error.
Please give these a try:
1) Go into your phone's Settings app. Scroll down until you find the Facebook app. Tap on the facebook icon and re-enter your password for Facebook. You should see under "allow these apps to use you account"and under that are again the list of application icons and just slide "on" the Hipstamatic application icon to give it access to your FB. And just slide off-on to reconfigure again.
Then, please go back into Hipstamatic and try reconnecting to Facebook, on the Other Services panel, on the My Accounts button. What it should do this time is ask you to re-authorize Facebook to allow Hipstamatic access. And that sometimes allows that connection to refresh.
If that doesn't work, try this:
2) Start by going to your Facebook profile in a web browser. And then go into the Privacy Settings. Then click on Apps on the left. Then scroll through the list of apps that you've given FB permission to use. Find Hipstamatic in that list and click the X next to it. (Note: Just remove the permission, don't have it delete all previous activity). Then go back into Hipstamatic and try reconnecting.
